Credit Cheaters – Business Credit Edition from Ground Zero
This is my story on how I got involved with business credit.
Let me share a bit of my first experiences with building business credit and then move you from the credit novice era into the streamlined process that works for me (and you) now. If you are like me, at sometime you may have been captivated by credit blogs and YouTube videos on credit building for millions of dollars with a 530 credit score. Some reports will put you in a coma while others … that absolutely defy the laws of logic and commons sense once you have done research and a bit of experimentation in building business credit.
I had always read about business credit being the solution to starting a business and also keeping my personal credit clean at the same time avoiding exposing myself with guarantees on the businesses debts. I really did not have a very clear understanding and marched forward with the nonchalant attitude of no problem! Give me a few weeks and I will have $100,000 in business credit just like these other guys on the internet.
Guess what? It did not work that easy without a lot of trial and error on my first few attempts. Good news, you get the benefit of my work without the frustrations. Keep in mind to use the credit building instructions toward the back of the book. A personal journey into business credit: It all began that sunny summer day I elected myself to become the next new online millionaire or was it I was out of work with no real options left to me? It was both! I hated that job and many of my past jobs as they were long hours dealing with the retail public.
I really wanted to start a business so that I would be paid fairly for my skills and preferably working from home at the same time. That night, as I was quaffing down a few Heineken beers, I began surfing the internet for a get rich make millions from online opportunities so I would not have to take another dead end job. The definition of “JOB” is “Journey Of the Broke” so true! I just quit a job with no future and was completely broke. While surfing, I see a franchise opportunity that really clicks with me, almost sending shivers down my spine! I yell “Eureka” to my loyal dog! Of course, the dog is a bit confused about the the outburst and looks at me like I have three heads, but she is nonetheless happy for me anyway! Then, I spend the next hour being totally immersed in my fantasy and congratulating myself of such a stroke of genius I had, once again! LOL!
Now when I began to read the details of my dream business I realized: “Houston, we have a problem. The Eagle will not launch nor land as it does not have enough cash for a franchise fee nor acceptable credit for a cup of coffee.” As you can only imagine, I just went from being on top of the clouds to going back to the refrigerator for more green bottle support. Recovering from the crushing of my dream. Does any of this situation sound familiar to you?
